NBO, Fix The Family Home

Top Paragraph:  My clients are my family.  My dad passed away on May 23, 2020 and was a collector.  We had to transform certain spaces so my mom could begin to create her new normal after my sister & my oldest daughter decided to move into the family home.  The challenge was doing all of this while grieving.

The NBO D.R.E.A.M Process

DREAM: Transform my dad’s room so my sister could move in plus transform the “East Wing” so my young adult daughter can move in as well.

REALIGN:  We had to agree the end goal is donating as much as we can as quickly as we can.  We put certain items up for sale on FB Marketplace & Nextdoor and scheduled multiple donation pickups until everything was cleared out.

ELIMINATE:  Everyone found items of my dad’s that were special to them, we moved other memories in the basement but discarded anything that was not worth donating, couldn’t be recycled or sold.  We had a few junk hauls.

ASSIGN:  Once the main rooms were clear my sister and adult daughter were able to move in.

MATCH:  The room formerly known as the den is now the dining room since its an open space next to the kitchen and the room formerly known as the dining room is now in the process of becoming the den.  Creating new normals while honoring my dad and his many sacrifices and fiscally responsible decisions.

TIMELINE:  It continues to be a PROJECT but they both moved in within a week of my fathers home-going service.
